Provincial Update

The province announced yesterday that the current COVID-19 restrictions will begin to be lifted on January 31, 2022. The list above is your guide to the reopening measures for the province.

City of Mississauga Service Updates

 As per the provincial changes, this will be the impact on Mississauga community services:

Community Centres and Cultural Facilities:

  • All Community Centre and Cultural Facilities will re-open for service delivery on Monday, January 31.

  • This will include access to fitness centres, arenas, pools, gymnasiums, museums and theatres at 50% capacity. 

Proof of vaccination, with QR code, continues to be a requirement.

  • Winter programs will begin the week of January 31 and where possible, make-up classes will be added to the end of the session. 

  • Existing memberships will be extended by 26 days.

  • Sports users are will be permitted to both practice and play games in accordance with the capacity limits. Youth and adult soccer leagues will resume the week of January 31.

 

Meeting and Event Spaces:

  • Meeting and event spaces are available for permitting at 50% capacity as of January 31 with some restrictions.

Libraries:

  • All libraries will return to in-person service on Monday January 31, with capacity capped at 50%.

 

Entertainment and sporting events:

 

Food Services:

  • Food services are available for banquet rentals with some restrictions, however concession services within our arena facilities are required to remain closed.

 

Museums:

  • Mississauga’s museums will open as of February 3, 2022.

 

Outdoor Sports and Recreational Fitness:

  • The outdoor skating rinks at Celebration Square and Woodhurst Heights Park as well as community operated outdoor rinks continue to be open.

  • Washrooms and outdoor recreational amenities open during the winter will remain open.
