City Facility Vaccination Requirements
In keeping with the provincial government’s proof of vaccination regulations, you need proof of COVID-19 vaccination to access:
Sports
Recreation fitness
Meeting rooms
Entertainment or cultural venues
This is required by the Government of Ontario’s Some exemptions are permitted under these regulations.
Where to get your vaccine receipt
You can download and print your vaccination receipt from the provincial booking portal. If you need a printer, visit any Mississauga Library location to print a copy of your vaccine receipt for free.
Proof of vaccine requirements
When entering a facility, you must show:
Ontario Ministry of Health COVID-19 vaccination receipt or other government issued vaccination record
Acceptable identification which includes name and birth date. Photo ID is not required.
Examples include birth certificate, citizenship card, driver’s license, government issued ID such as a health card, passport or permanent resident card.
Expired Ontario issued ID or Canadian Passports may be provided as proof of ID only, all others must be.
When you need to show proof of vaccine
Patrons 18 years of age and older accessing sport and fitness facilities for any purpose, including parents or guardians of youth participating in an organized sport.
Youth 12-17 using a gym or other area with exercise equipment or weights, attending public swimming or public skating
Youth 12-17 spectating, including sporting events
Patrons 12 and older attending banquet halls and community centre meeting rooms used for social gatherings or programs (with limited exceptions)
Patrons 12 and older attending wedding and funeral social gatherings (*time limited testing exemption available September 22 – October 12, 2021 inclusive)
Patrons 12 and older attending indoor areas of restaurants (excluding outdoor patios, delivery and takeout)
Patrons 12 and older attending entertainment/cultural venues such as theatres and concert venues
When you do not need to show proof of vaccine
These exemptions are allowed under Ontario regulations.
Any patron 18 years of age and older with written documentation supplied by a physician or nurse practitioner indicating medical support for not being fully vaccinated and government issued identification
Youth under 12 years of age
Youth under 18 years entering the facility for the purpose of actively participating in an organized sport and associated coaches, volunteers and officials involved with organized sport are exempt. Examples of this activity include: sports leagues, swimming lessons, dance classes, martial arts and applies to training, practices, games and competitions
Attendance at a wedding and funeral service only
Rental space for day camps, childcare or social services (including parents picking up and dropping off participants)
Health and safety social support purposes (warming/cooling centres, shower program access)
Mississauga Library locations
Living Arts Centre studio (resident artist use only)
Museums (drop-in visits and tours)
