Hot Spot Vaccination for 50+ in Peel

The province announced some fantastic news today. Residents who live in ‘hot spots’, who are 50 years of age or older, will soon be eligible for vaccination.   

Residents will be able to book on the provincial system as of Friday, April 9.

The postal areas where these residents are eligible are:  

  • L4T

  • L4W

  • L4X

  • L4Z

  • L5A

  • L5B

  • L5R

  • L5C

  • L5K

  • L5L

  • L5M

  • L5N

  • L5V

  • L5W

  • L6P

  • L6R

  • L6S

  • L6T

  • L7C

  • L6V

  • L6W

  • L6X

  • L6Y

  • L6Z

  • L7A

Peel Public Health is continuing conversations with the province to determine if, given the extent of risk in our community, whether we can consider all of Peel a 'hot spot' for the purposes of the vaccination rollout. Should they receive approval we will provide a further update.

 

Mass Vaccination Clinic Updates 

Another milestone has been met today with the opening of the Chris Gibson Recreation Centre public health vaccination clinic.  We are now able to vaccinate as many as 9,700 people per day across the system and have had excellent uptake over the Easter holiday weekend since those 60 years and older became eligible on April 2.

Doses Administered

As of April 5, the total doses administered in Peel is 203,846.


The vaccine status dashboard has been enhanced to include the following new information which can be filtered by age, Peel residency and vaccinated in Peel:

  • Total first doses

  • Total second doses

  • Doses administered in the last 7 days

  • Doses administered by immunizing site

  • Doses administered by age group

  • Cumulative doses administered by immunization date

  • Doses administered by immunization date
