Peel Regional Police Launch Project Noisemaker and ERASE Campaign 2022

As road safety remains a major concern in Peel Region, Peel Regional Police is launching their annual Project ERASE and Project Noisemaker on May 1, 2022.

For the next six months, ERASE will target street racing activities in Peel Region and Noisemaker will address motor vehicles with modified and/or excessively loud exhaust systems on the roads.

They have had tremendous success in protecting road safety with both projects in previous years, and anticipate positive impact as we embark on the warmer months ahead.

Drivers are reminded that street racing is illegal and Peel Regional Police will exercise zero tolerance for dangerous driving behaviours and street racing activities.

Vehicle owners are also asked to repair modified exhaust systems, avoid altering factory-issued parts on vehicles that increase sound, and to ensure vehicles comply with the regulations set out in the Highway Traffic Act.

Road safety is a critical for the safety and wellbeing of everyone and Peel Regional Police is strictly committed to its enforcement. Drivers who compromise road safety will be subject to charges and penalties for offences under the Highway Traffic Act, could face seizure of their vehicles and roadside suspension of their driver’s licence.

Members of the public are encouraged to share information concerning aggressive driving or street racing activities in the Region of Peel. They can contact Peel Regional Police at 905-453-3311 or file complaints through the Road Watch portal on the website. They can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or through peelcrimestoppers.ca.
