Reducing Speed Limits in School Zones

Recently, the city council voted to reduce speed limits in school zones and an important update was made for the use of Automated Speed Cameras (ASC). Right now, city cameras enforce the lower speed limit of 30 km/hr 24x7.

Council recently voted to change this so that lower speed limits are only enforced Monday - Friday, 6 AM - 6 PM. On weekends and after-school hours, the speed limit will revert to 40 km/ hr. This is a common-sense approach to using speed cameras and enforcing speed limits.
